Food Selection

Food selection today offers far more options and opinions to weigh in terms of buying what's best for you and your family. Are you selecting items that rank high in nutritional value, giving you the most for your dollars spent ?
Take into consideration: Freshness: Was it produced close to home?
Safety: Is care given to the growing location and the use of pesticides other chemicals.
It also adds to the cost of food to get certified as Organic every year. Most Sustainable Farming practises follow this approach as well in doing what is best for the land and livestock. No chemicals is just one of the principles followed by sustainable farming or sustainable living.

-- Helpful Terms Used Organic: Organic farms must be independently certified every year through a government program or an independent certifier.
Non-GMO: no genetically modified organisms
Pastured: raised on grasses and natural vegetation
Sustainable Farm: A philosophy or way of life dealing with many of the principles and practices used in the healthy growing or raising of livestock and food products.
