Grass Fed

The Better Way
When you buy pastured meat & other products from these farms, you're taking steps to safeguard your health, protect the environment, and improve animal well being. Your Health: In addition to being lower in calories and total fat, pasture-raised foods have higher levels of vitamins, and a healthier balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fats than conventional meat and dairy products. Eating these Nutrient Dense Foods, you ultimately get more nutritional benefits from your food dollars. The side benefit is the food tastes great.
Protect the Environment: One of the buzz phrases of this century has been a depleted ozone layer. Studies are showing that factory farms feed these animals grain (usually corn or soybeans) because it's a cheap way to fatten animals and force them to grow to market weight as quickly as possible. The end result is that these animal are responsible for the world's largest proportion of produced methane gas. These grain foods are inefficient for the animal's digestion and copious amounts of methane are released into our air.
Pastured based or grass fed ruminants eat naturally grown grasses fed by the soil and enriched within the cycle of change by grinding and tilling their manure into the soils of their pasture range.
Animal Welfare: Animals and the land are well-treated, as a result their products are exceptionally high in nutrition and free of antibiotics and added hormones. Raised on open pasture, animals are able to move around freely and carry out their natural behaviors. Access to fresh air or sunlight is coupled with roughage provided by grasses and other plants. This allows these grass-grazers' to produce saliva, which helps neutralize acids that exist naturally in their digestive systems. Some animals, like chickens, get additional vitamins and protein from eating insects.
